Get To Know the Counselor

Katie’s thoughts on Counseling:

“Personal growth, emotional healing, and self-awareness are just a few goals I strive for my clients to achieve. Counseling is not just for addressing mental health challenges but is also used as a proactive tool for achieving greater life satisfaction, building resilience, and improving relationships. My clients and I are on a collaborative journey that empowers them to create meaningful change in their lives and better understand themselves and their surroundings. The client-counselor relationship is something I truly cherish! “

Outside of the Therapy Office:

Spending quality time with family and friends and trying new restaurants fills my cup! When I’m looking to unwind, there’s nothing better than relaxing in my sunroom with a good book or simply enjoying the peaceful atmosphere surrounded by my plants.”

Education & Background

Katie is a Licensed Professional Counselor and local mental health advocate.

Katie is a proud member of the Troy, Ohio, community and brings a deep commitment to local youth and families. Before entering the field of mental health counseling, she served for five years as the Youth Development Coordinator at the Lincoln Community Center, where she supported young people in developing resilience, leadership, and self-awareness.

Katie earned her Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Xavier University and now works with individuals and couples through a trauma-informed lens. She believes strongly in the power of the therapeutic relationship and sees the counseling space as a collaborative partnership built on trust, authenticity, and mutual respect.

Philosophical/Theoretical Approach to Counseling

Drawing from a Humanistic-Adlerian foundation, Katie integrates techniques from cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), mindfulness-based cognitive therapy (MBCT), and strengths-based and behavioral approaches. Her style is compassionate, client-centered, and growth-oriented—honoring each person’s inherent worth and capacity for change.

Katie works with clients to help them explore their stories with courage, reconnect with their inner strengths, and build tools for long-term well-being. She strives to create a safe, nonjudgmental space where healing and personal growth can unfold.
