COUNSELOR, SUPERVISOR, BREATH-WORK ENTHUSIAST

KRISTIN DOLPH PHD., LPCC-S

Education & Background

Dr. Kristin Dolph is a doctoral-level Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor, Clinical Supervisor, Educator, and Researcher and is the owner of Dolph Counseling & Wellness, LLC.

Dr. Dolph’s clinical experience includes psychiatric inpatient care, psychiatric and correctional crisis assessment, intensive outpatient group therapy (IOP), and school-based therapy. In addition to clinical practice, she is an Adjunct Psychology Instructor at Edison State Community College and at the University of Dayton, Wright State University, and the University of Toledo in their Clinical Mental Health Counseling graduate programs.

Dr. Dolph graduated from Wright State University in 2018 with her MS in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. She then went on to pursue her PhD in Counselor Education and Supervision from Walden University and graduated in 2024.

Clinical Area of Speciality

Dr. Dolph specializes in healing deep emotional wounds caused by various types of unhealthy relational and developmental traumas. Have you been labeled a “people pleaser” “self-sabotager” or “Reactive/Sensitive” person? Did you grow up in a house where your emotions were not acknowledged and cared for? Do you struggle with intimacy today as an adult? You may have experienced chronic psychological and/or developmental trauma. Haven’t heard of this? That is because there is no diagnosis, yet. Psychological abuse has been researched and treated long before single-incident trauma dating back to Hippocrates. Thankfully, you do not need a diagnosis to receive help and healing. You may need IFS therapy. IFS is an evidence-based trauma therapy that abandons the pathology model and moves towards multiplicity of self to heal. A clinician must be trained in IFS to practice ethically and Dr. Dolph is one of few trained IFS clinicians in the state of Ohio. Reach out to Dr. Kristin Dolph to inquire.

Philosophical/Theoretical Approach to Counseling

Dr. Dolph uses a Humanistic-Gestalt theoretical lens which helps clients see the connection between their emotions and physical sensations with awareness and acceptance. Modalities include Psychodynamic, Jungian, IFS, EMDR, DBT, Solution-Focused Brief Therapy, and Narrative Therapy.

Get To Know The Counselor

Dr. Dolph’s Thoughts on Counseling:

“Pain and hurt are inevitable in life; suffering is not. We humans go through many complex challenges, and sometimes, they leave us scarred. Nonetheless, they are a part of our life story. I like to help my clients own their stories with courage and compassion for themselves. I also understand that counseling is a uniquely vulnerable process for anyone, which is why I value the client-counselor relationship above all.”

Outside of the therapy office:

“So many things! I am a huge lover of nature and animals. I truly value the natural healing powers that they bring and try to use them for my own calming and relaxation. I also think that they help me connect to my “self” and inner-feminine, allowing me to enjoy a more “fluid” life. I also enjoy cooking and reading.”
